The main features of our UNISYS Clearpath to open systems conversion service are...
CONVERSION NOT EMULATION: We provide a true conversion - not a COMS, MCP, or BATCH emulation on Open Systems. The converted system is no longer a Clearpath system; it has been fully converted to a true open system running in a true native open systems environment.
PROGRAMS: The UNISYS programs are converted to the customers chosen open systems programming languages; typically MICRO FOCUS or FUJITSU COBOL. The original program structure and logic is fully maintained.
SCREENS: The 2200 TIP screens or MCP COMS screens are converted to the customers chosen screen preference either standard COBOL screen section screens that are included in the screen section of the converted programs, or WINFORMS, or ASPX/WEBFORMS. All the original screen features and functions are fully maintained or enhanced.
DATA FILES: Indexed data files are converted to ISAM data files. The Clearpath databases are converted to the customers chosen relational database � DB2, ORACLE, SQL-Server, TERADATA, etc. All original file structures and access methods are maintained or enhanced.
INDEXED TO RDBMS: We are also able to offer the ability to convert INDEXED files to RDBMS, including converting the program file access logic. This conversion to a RDBMS can be performed at the same time as the converting the Clearpath system to open systems conversion or it can be performed at a later time.
BATCH PROCSSSING: The UNISYS JCL (ECL or WFL) is converted to the customers chosen open system scripting language � WINDOWS .bat, UNIX shell scripts, Perl scripts , etc The converted jobs are run on the new open systems platform in a very similar manner to the UNISYS Mainframe.
PROGRAM MAINTAINABILITY: The original program structure and logic is fully maintained in the converted programs. There is no loss in program maintainability.
